You must be 16 to get anything besides
your ears pierced. Minors must have
parent with  minors birth certificate and  
Parents i.d.
1) Is there a autoclave on site? ( A autoclave Is a sterilizer)
make sure that autoclave  is tested once a month? Ask to
see spore test results.
A dry heat sterilizer is not
acceptable.

Are all tools clean and  in a sterile pouch?
3) Are the needles new and in a sterile pouch?
4) Is the shop clean and well lit?
5) Is the surgical pen new that they mark your skin with.
This comes out of a sterile package. Pens should be thrown
away after each client. Never ever reused! Some body
piercers use a tooth pick and hectograph ink with is a
purple ink to mark the skin.
6) Is the body jewelry  in a sterile pouch? That you are
going to be getting  in your new piercing. And a
appropriate piece of jewelry for your piercing.
7) Ask how much experience the body  piercer has.
8) You should always get a written and verbal aftercare
on how to take care of your new piercing.
9) Make sure that you feel comfortable while you are in
the shop and ask many questions. A professional will have
no problems answering any question you have.
10) After your piercing is all done be sure to watch the
body piercer put your needle in a approved sharps container.
11) There are many more things to look for. So make sure
you do your homework before getting a piercing.
