Tom during the tattooing processes
Tom is also certified in
blood borne pathogens
This is the auto-clave
Here is a spore test results. A spore test is live
bacteria that you put in the auto-clave to
insure it is working properly. You then send the
test after the sterilization is done  to a lab and
they will give you your results of pass or failed
Only single use needles are used in the tattoo and piercing
processes.
Tom will be sure to put the  needle in an approved Sharps container
after every tattoo and body piercing.  In front of you. All work areas,
spray bottles, machines ,chairs and clip cord are wrapped  in a
plastic barrier prior to each client, and changed after every tattoo.
The chairs that our clients sit in during their tattoo will be sprayed
down with a hospital disinfectant prior to and after each tattoo. Tom
will change his gloves many times during the tattoo process to be
sure that no cross-contamination will happen.
Tom and Becky will answer any questions you might have about the
procedure itself and aftercare, so feel free to ask!
Tom's Tattoo set-up
1) Is there a autoclave on site? (An autoclave is a sterilizer) Is that autoclave tested once a month? (To ensure the autoclave is working properly). Ask to
see spore test results.
Dry Heat sterilizer is not acceptable.

2)
Is all equipment covered in  plastic barriers(such as clip cord, spray bottle, tattoo machines, the surface the artist is working from chairs etc...)

3) Are the needles new and in a sterile pouch?

4) Is the shop clean and well lit?

5) Is the ink new? Make sure the artist don't reuse their ink,It all should be thrown away after each client.

6) Ask to see the artist while he is working to ensure he is not cross contaminating (touching things with dirty gloves) A artist should change their gloves
before touching any thing that is not able to be sterilized or covered with plastic. (such as phones, containers and power supplies etc....)

7) Ask to see pictures of the artists work or if possible live people.

8) Talk to other people who have been tattooed and if you like their work find out who did it and if you don't like it find out who did it so you don't make the
same mistake they did.

9) Make sure that you feel comfortable while you are in the shop and ask many questions. A professional will have no problems answering any question
you have.

10) There are many more things to look for so make sure you do your homework before getting a tattoo. You don't want to regret a permanent decision
you make for the rest of your life or get a diseases. Keep in mind a artist can fix a bad tattoo but
can not fix a diseases.
